UK registration FAQ
Is Fastimmat an official public authority?
No. Fastimmat is a private independent service and is not affiliated with the DGT, Spanish government, DVLA, HMRC, AEAT or any public authority.
Can Fastimmat guarantee that my UK car will be registered?
Fastimmat cannot guarantee an administrative decision. The result depends on documents, customs treatment, ITV, vehicle data and Spanish requirements.
Do I need a V5C?
The V5C/log book is a key UK document. GOV.UK guidance says the remaining log book is needed to register the vehicle in the destination country when exporting permanently.
Will UK cars pay customs or import VAT?
Since Brexit, UK to Spain cases often need non-EU import analysis. Customs duty, import VAT or relief must be checked against the file and official rules.
Can a right-hand drive car be registered in Spain?
Some right-hand drive cars can move through the process, but ITV and homologation details such as lights, speedometer and rear fog light may need review.
What documents should I upload?
Usually V5C, proof of ownership, identity, NIE or residence evidence, COC if available, customs papers and ITV or technical documents where relevant.
Why is the simulator estimate not final?
Taxes and fees depend on official values, CO2, dates, municipality, customs route and document review. The estimate is a preparation tool, not a tax assessment.
Can I use Fastimmat if my car is already in Spain?
Yes, if the document trail is clear. The date the car entered Spain, customs status, V5C handling and ITV position should be reviewed carefully.
Does Fastimmat handle every technical modification?
Fastimmat helps organise the file and identify technical review points. Physical adaptations, ITV inspection and homologation decisions depend on competent technical providers.
What happens after I pay Fastimmat?
You access the client dashboard, upload the requested documents and review the points to confirm before the file moves forward. Public taxes, third-party fees and final amounts remain separate from Fastimmat's private fee.
Before you start
For a UK to Spain file, the most useful first step is to separate export evidence, customs status, technical conformity and Spanish registration taxes. Mixing them too early can make the route look simpler than it is.
- Keep the V5C/log book, invoice and any permanent export evidence together.
- Do not treat MOT as a replacement for Spanish ITV.
- Check whether customs, DUA and import VAT evidence already exists.
- Flag right-hand drive, lights, speedometer and COC questions before ITV.

Start with an indicative estimate
The simulator helps identify likely cost families and document gaps. It is not a final administrative decision.
