Fastimmat calculator

What to check before registering a car in Spain

The Fastimmat calculator does not simply add standard charges. It looks at the import route, vehicle details, first registration date, mileage, EU or non-EU origin, seller status and destination municipality to organise the Spanish taxes, public fees and document checks.

The result is an indicative estimate. It helps you prepare the file, understand which public costs may apply and identify the evidence that should be reviewed before moving forward. The aim is to pay the taxes due, but not more than your documented situation legally requires.

What the Fastimmat calculator checks

The estimate separates the main cost families involved in a first Spanish registration: IEDMT registration tax, municipal IVTM, VAT or ITP depending on the vehicle and seller, customs and import VAT for non-EU origins, ITV, DGT fees, plates and possible technical requirements such as COC, ficha reducida or homologation.

Each line is treated as calculated, estimated or to be confirmed with documents when the evidence is not complete. This keeps public taxes, third-party fees and Fastimmat service fees separate.

Legal tax optimisation for used vehicles and import cases

Some used vehicles, documented relocations or import cases may be treated differently from a default full-rate scenario. Fastimmat checks where a more favourable tax treatment can be legally justified, based on the facts of the file and the documents available.

Markers such as more than 6 months, more than 6,000 km, purchase date, real use, residence history or origin country do not automatically reduce tax. They guide the review and help avoid a full-rate treatment when Spanish rules support a better documented reading.

Why some drivers overpay during Spanish registration

A generic calculation can treat very different cases as if they were identical: a recent purchase, a car already owned, a UK post-Brexit import, a Swiss import, a transfer of residence, a private sale or a professional seller. The calculator explores those routes without presenting the estimate as a guaranteed official amount.

When a document can change the tax reading, Fastimmat marks the point for review. The file can then be refined with the real V5C, invoice, customs evidence, COC, ITV or residence documents before the final quote and before administrative steps.

After the estimate

After the result, you can open a Fastimmat file, access your client dashboard, upload documents and track what has been received, what is missing and what needs review. This turns a quick estimate into a more reliable preparation workflow.

The final quote separates remaining taxes and public fees, third-party costs and the Fastimmat service fee already paid. That distinction prevents an early estimate from being confused with a final decision from the Spanish administration.

Calculator FAQ

Is the Fastimmat calculator free?

Yes. You can get an indicative estimate for free. The supported file starts only if you choose to continue after seeing the result.

Which taxes and fees are estimated?

The calculator may estimate IEDMT, IVTM, VAT or ITP where relevant, customs, ITV, DGT fees, plates and some technical registration costs.

Can a used vehicle change the tax calculation?

It can change the analysis when the conditions and evidence support it. Fastimmat highlights what needs review, without promising an automatic reduction.

Why do some drivers overpay?

A file handled by default can miss a more suitable rule. The estimate helps identify facts and documents that should be checked before accepting a full-rate scenario.

What happens after the estimate?

You can open a file, upload documents in the client dashboard and receive a final quote that separates public taxes, third-party fees and Fastimmat service fees.
